Did you know that only 15% of Christians tithe?? What?? I mean, does it really matter that you don’t tithe? Let’s talk about it…

As Christians, we are called to give 10% of our income. Many people wonder if donating to charities or Christian organizations counts as tithing. To clear that up, let’s refer to Malachi 3:10:
“…Bring the full tenth into the storehouse so that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this way,” says the Lord of Hosts. “See if I will not open the floodgates of Heaven and pour out blessing for you without measure.”
This scripture demonstrates the extent of blessing we will receive by bringing the full 10% “into the storehouse”, or into the house of God.

Wait..so floods of blessings will just pour down if I give 10%? Well, there’s a bit more to it than that. We also must give with a grateful, selfless, and willing heart. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 says this:
“Remember this: The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously. Each person should do as he has decided in his heart—not reluctantly or out of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

Giving 10% to the church with a cheerful heart doesn’t exactly guarantee literal drops of blessings will fall on us. But it is a great indication that your heart is right with God and HIS will has become YOUR will! When that happens, even the trials and tribulations can be seen as a blessings! We pray that you find a church home to give your tithe to as you strengthen your walk with Christ, and align your will to HIS!
